  1. "NJ does NOT have a stop and identify statute, so cops can't even ATTEMPT to ask for your ID until AFTER you have been LEGALLY detained." Anyone know what PA has in comparison to this? Thinking of moving out of NJ to PA...
  2. For the up-cumming legislature election...what elections District am I in? I was looking at my NRA elections notice in preparation for the up-cumming NJ elections and realized I don't know what my district is....I'm in Hudson County, Hoboken. I called the elections office, and believe-it-or-not, I was transferred from one person to another each person with a thicker accent then the last, and none of the reps had an answer for me...they actually could not tell me! The actually had no idea what I was talking about...WOW! Eventually, I was told I am in district 2, but after looking at some maps on the net it looks as if I may not be in 2 but in 33. Does anyone know for sure what district I'm in?
  3. feel free to walk right by, or maybe say hello if you are feeling extra friendly, but under no circumstances, in any 50 states, do you HAVE to ID yourself. Does this mean I still have to tell him my name as I walk by or are you simply referring to having to present ID? Anyone have the link to the NJ statute?
  4. Some groups/individuals spend an inordinate amount of energy explaining their actions and being reactionary/retaliatory. I was sharing my experiences, which tend to be quite broad, as I have been fortunate to travel the country and the world extensively. If your happy where you are so-be-it. But, there's no doubt the towns on the Delaware of central and south NJ are splendid. Now yes, let's get it back on track. How do these rights correspond to what you "must" reveal to a police officer when simply walking/biking down the street or driving and not having committed any offense in NJ? I was chatting with an officer in Washington state and he explained to me that if he asked me for ID simply while I was walking down the street I could tell him to "go pound sand". Same in NJ?
  5. You can always transfer.... There are some gorgeous and friendly towns along the Delaware.
  6. Unfortunately, not all officers have your attitude! Far too many readily and often abuse the authority provided them and insert ego where reason and integrity should reign. In my experience urban areas, such as in Norther NJ, the police have a thug and mob like mentality and are grossly undereducated. While in central, southern and more rural areas police take pride in having ethics and really do want to "Serve and Protect" and not simply "Serve and Protect" their personal interests. I have traveled a large portion of this country and find this theme fits all states except for Alaska...honor is the dominant feature there and police go to extremes to protect citizens.
  7. Does anyone know the particulars and laws around Presenting and ID and answering questions when a police officer asks? Something similar to the situation in this video without the gun involved?
  8. Nothing specific. I was just trying to make sense of it all as I read that it was possible. I'm now confused as to why they would issue to someone outside NJ, because I thought that NJ did not require a licences to have a gun, just an ID card to purchase?
  9. I read somewhere that NJ does issue permits/licenses to out of state gun owners. I don't remember the details, but was wondering if anyone has details on this?
  10. I just read that any type of AK-47 or 74 is illegal in NJ. I thought the gun, meeting specific requirements, was legal on all US state?
  11. If I buy shotguns or rifles and also amo, including amo for pistols, from gun shows and legitimate gun shops in other stated, then drive them back to NJ am I committing a crime under NJ law?
  12. I was just about to buy significant quantities of .223, then someone suggested looking into NJ law on stockpiling ammunition before I purchase any. Is there anything in NJ laws that prevents me from stockpiling ammunition?
