  1. Hello Everyone, I have been a member of US Lawshield for about two years. I have not yet had to use the service but my renewal is coming up and I have been seeing lots of bad reviews lately online. I know Murphy screwed us over a couple years ago making it almost impossible to obtain defensive use coverage. However, I was wondering if anything changed legally and there is a better alternative to US Lawshield for NJ residents? Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
  2. Thank you for the help! What happens if I do not own the semi auto and just have the pump would the magazine in 10rds still be legal?
  3. Hello Everyone, I hope you all had a nice Christmas and New Years. I had a quick question, I realize NJ has a magazine capacity limit of 6 rounds for a semi automatic shotguns. However, could I purchase a larger capacity magazine in 10 rounds which is utilizes the 1919 style of magazine for a pump shogun? Also if it was technically legal for the pump shotgun to have more than 10 round magazine would it become illegal if I were to purchase another shotgun in the future which is semi automatic and utilizes the same magazine such as a VR80? Thank you for any advice you could provide.
  4. Hello Everyone, My brother and I went yesterday to Cabelas in Delaware and found an amazing looking Henry Golden Boy in .17HMR. I decided to purchase the rifle and after giving the salesmen my firearms card and drivers license he came back and informed me that they cannot sell me the rifle since it exceeds 10 rounds. The salesmen was very polite but we told him we believe that only applies to semi automatic rifles but after looking up the exception I found that tubular magazines in .22 caliber only are exempt and it does not apply to other caliber such as .17hmr. However, it was also talking about the ruling on semi automatic rifles. Does anyone know if other caliber rifles in a lever action can exceed the 10 rounds? Its strange since I called one gun shop in NJ and they have the rifle in stock but when I go to Gallery of Guns it says its restricted. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Here is the article on the law: https://cdn.ymaws.com/www.anjrpc.org/resource/resmgr/evan_nappen/complying_with_nj_s_mag_ban-.pdf
  5. Thank you everyone for the feedback. I am curious why do you not recommend upgrading to that stock? I seems to be a quality product and I really like that it folds. My brother has a 590 with the magpul furniture and its certainly is a quality product. I just wanted a trimmer package since the magpul stocks are large.
  6. Thank you for the response. I am curious what did you think of the stock? Was it a quality product? I also appreciate the offer on the stock but I currently do not own an 870.
  7. Hello Everyone, I recently purchased a 590a1 shotgun and wanted to change out the stock to a FAB Defense Tactical stock. However, I am not sure if it would be legal since this stock both collapses and folds to the side of the firearm. Thank you for any advice you could provide. Here is a link to the stock: https://www.fab-defenseus.com/online-store-1/Tactical-Folding-Buttstock-w-Cheek-Piece-for-Remington-870-Mossberg-500-p115834607
  8. This is not a cleaner but gun butter is very nice oil.
  9. I was wondering anyone know if the Remington Model 870 TAC-14 is NJ legal? That is a really cool shotgun! https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2017/05/jeremy-s/new-remington-model-870-tac-14/
  10. Hello Everyone, I am looking to sell my Glock 23 to my brother and upgrade to a Glock 35. We both have our FID Cards and pistol permits what would he need to do to legally purchase the firearms from me? Any advice would be appreciated!
  11. Newtonian thank you for the advice. I am certainly not giving up and I did start applying a while ago just have not had much luck. Also shortly after the company I was working for closed my dad died very suddenly after a heart surgery so everything has been a mess and is now starting to get back to normal considering the circumstances. Having done a lot of freelance work and I totally realize that networking is key. Do you perhaps know of any quality gun shops in the South Jersey area? Thank you for your advice!
  12. Great idea. I have actually been applying to a number of companies in the area with a number of industries. Good idea to check out the tool industry. Lots of those businesses should have an e-commerce presence.
  13. Great advice! I have been sending out my newly created resume along with a letter of my work highlights to a lot of gun shops and stores in the area but most either do not respond or are not looking for work. I worked a lot of freelance in the past but its hard to maintain a steady income but certainly anything at the moment would help. Perhaps it might be best to visit these companies in person to see if I can get anywhere. However, I really need something that will pay well. My last position paid a very low wage and its nearly impossible to live on. Thank you again for the advice.
