  1. Full Metal Jacket Gun Range https://www.fmjgunrange.com/
  2. A pair of Surefire Earpro's (pick the size model that best suits you) with the Leight electronic muffs over the top have worked exceptionally well for me.
  3. I was told at the counter Freedom Munitions was allowed but have not actually tried shooting it there.
  4. Great, ty, just got 5k CCI, mix of SPP and LPP
  5. I have found it locally when needed, so yes, so far so good.
  6. Very nice. I've got the Ruger in 22lr for my kids and the 93R17 Savage in the TR model (your's looks like a BTV?) which has the McMillan-ish stock for Dad. Had all kinds of feed problems initially with the Savage. The magazines fit too loose and they dropped down just a little bit and did not allow the rounds to chamber. I had to pinch the back of the mags a little bit (the wings that ride up the guide) so they fit tighter and has been perfect since. 3-4 light taps with a rubber tipped hammer did the trick on each wing. The issue is described here - If your mags are loose, fix it before you even go to the range to avoid frustration.
  7. $18 was for background check and is now done online at a cost of $20 (+$2 online fee). If going through NJSP you will only need check for $2/permit made out to Divsion of State Police. More info here in this recent post - http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/68599-fpid-p2p-application-process/
  8. Very happy with my Vortex Crossfire 1-4 with v-brite reticle. Actually had a 1-4 PST and decided I liked this better. It's in your price range.
  9. A vortex 2.5-10 FFP is on my SPRish build...
  10. Yes, thanks about RR, first place I went. No updates on RR since 2013 (added a prosecutor talkgroup). Put a post up on their forums a couple days ago and haven't gotten any response that helps. Thanks for posting about Burlington, I listen to the SE Burl Co stuff and that has been silently recently, as well, will check RR for those updates and see if I can get that going again.
  11. Many digital systems can be scanned just fine. Encrypted digital (which many LE agencies have gone to) is another story. Most fire and EMS remain unencrypted. Good idea about Scanner Radio. Just installed that on my Android. Hearing dispatches on the UHF channel but not hearing the in service responses on the trunked system on either my scanner nor on Scanner Radio for Ocean County.
  12. Having some problems recently with my Radio Shack Pro-197 picking up Ocean County Trunking system. Worked fine for a long time but stopped working for me sometime in the past 6-8 weeks, not sure of exact date. I am located in Northern Atlantic County, but never had a problem receiving the trunking system for Ocean. Anyone that can lend a hand with a file or can have me run my settings by them we can take this to PM. Thanks!
  13. Have found a set of bases that will work, but I am choosing not to use them. They are the Weaver T-22 mounts. They mount to the rimfire rail as opposed to using the tapped receiver for mounting bases. They allow flexibility in mounting adjustment width of the rings. There are downsides, however. One, they are an extra 1/2" in height. If you use the high comb stock with some type of pad in combination with low rings, this would work. However, I am using the low comb stock with a pad so I can still use the irons. Which brings up the 2nd point of you can't use the irons with these bases installed as they are too high. Finally, I found it difficult to true up the bases to the centerline of the receiver as there is an adjustment screw on each side to attach the base to the receiver. I do expect someone (Weaver?) will have a base that mounts to the receiver that will provide Picatinny spacing sometime in the future. Until then, I picked up a Vortex Crossfire to use as a dedicated scope.
  14. So I've tried a couple different options for mounting a picatinny rail atop the rimfire rails and none have worked so far. Not much choice here other than to have a scope dedicated for this rifle or have the receiver re-drilled and tapped. Gotta give a thumbs down to Ruger on the design in this aspect.
