New Jersey gun owners received a bit of good news recently when the Legislature sent the budget to Gov. Phil Murphy, and it did not contain the revenues from massive hikes the executive had earlier proposed on firearm permitting fees. View Related Articles Murphy had unsuccessfully proposed these Draconian fees before. Unrelenting, his 2020 budget proposal would have resulted in pistol purchase permit fees increasing from $2 to $48 and Firearms Identification card fees increasing from $5 to $98. It’s even more offensive considering the vast majority of states don’t even require these bureaucratic and costly hoops in the first place. This amounts to a poll tax on gun ownership and a fundamental constitutional right. The Governor, a Wall Street multi-millionaire who enjoys around-the-clock protection and a taxpayer-paid security detail, has clearly made his position known: elitists with money have more rights than average citizens. The ability to provide for one’s own self defense is a right and not a luxury reserved for the wealthy few. Murphy wants to make firearm ownership so expensive that average citizens simply could not afford to buy a firearm. At a time when Americans are having a tough time balancing their checkbooks and are witnessing historic civil unrest, many of them are trying to purchase firearms for the first time. This latest exhibit is just more proof how out-of-touch this wealthy and elitist Governor is with the average person. Thankfully, even the Legislature seemed to agree that Gov. Just want to give a shout out to the Arsenal Gun Shop in Deptford NJ. Good service - seems like they could use some traffic - clean and neat store.

Does anyone have any information about Vicari Gun Sales? Gerry? I know they are listed as a dealer here on this site. I used to buy from them - nice quality military surplus rifles- but now they have seemed to have disappeared.

So, I was driving down 295 today and after reading about the new Freedom Arms going in where Hague’s used to be I thought I should stop in. As I pulled in a gentleman was walking out obviously heading to his truck with somewhere to go. He stopped and asked me if he could help- I introduced myself and told him why I had stopped in. He introduced himself as Glen one of the owners and offers to show me around. The store is set up much the same way it was with the previous owners - but the range is different. Completely new, clean and bright. New backstops, shooting stations and mechanicals- beautiful. The shop is about 3/4 full of both new and preowned guns - handguns, shotguns and rifles. Glen took at least 1/2 an hour and showed me the entire place with obvious pride. Remember he was leaving to go when I arrived but stopped what he was doing to show me around. Customer service is our priority he said - fair treatment, fair prices and a little ball bustin’ Seems to be the name of the game. I am very impressed and want this place to succeed- if you are in the area do yourself a favor - stop in - introduce yourself and check it out for yourself. I think we have a winner in town.

As a former member of SJSC and a current member of Telco I can say that all things considered I’ve enjoyed my membeeship at Telco a great deal. Greg runs the 5 stand on Sundays and it is a really fun time.

Nice! I am a member at Telco and shoot clays at M&M (this weekend), Quinton, Cedar Creek, Red Wing and even once out to Lehigh Valley (very cool).

Just wanted to update this thread - I stopped in at Miller’s (DE) on the 31st - it is like a ghost town. Maybe 25-30 guns in the whole store! Spoke with Mr. Miller, I bought my Browning 725 from him - he said he was losing business to people buying online (noting new) but gave an example of someone who priced a gun with him, bought it online for $15 less and then had it deliver to his store so he could do the transfer! If we don’t support our local shops - yes, I know his shop is in Delaware - they won’t be there much longer.

The new law allowed for a grace period and the December 10 deadline is quickly approaching. Thanks to strong, continuous support from NRA, our state association, the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs, filed suit to block the magazine ban, but the case is still pending before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. ANJRPC has produced and posted a four page guide outlining the new law.
