  1. As for being judged by 12, it's going to cost you in this state.
  2. Unfortunately most people don't think like that (present company excluded). People just think high tech, lasers,= better. I'll bet in if you ask most people with, say, grip lasers, how they calibrate or sight them in, your just going to get a blank stare. They just assume the bullet is going to follow the dot
  3. I can't tell the difference between the red and green optics, and it's hard to find in blue.
  4. I honestly would have no problems paying even higher gas tax under the following conditions: 1. All gas tax and MV fees are used only for roads, bridges, etc (repair, maintenance, new construction). 2. Eliminate all tolls (there would be savings by not having to pay for salaries and equipment maintenance for toll collection). So you pay more gas tax (as a use tax) and no more tolls 3. Fix the astronomical per mile cost of NJ road construction and maintenance Unfortunately our government is incapable of doing this
  5. They're working on taxing EVs as well: https://www.nj.com/news/2024/03/an-automatic-gas-tax-hike-and-new-electric-vehicle-fee-head-to-nj-governor-for-his-signature.html#:~:text=The bill also proposes a,the vehicle registration is renewed.
  6. Didn't NJ have one of the lowest gas taxes before Christie? And don't try to escape by using an EV, that's slated for $250 / year tax too. Maybe they should charge an annual gas tax on people who move out of state as well!
  7. Agree! But at least in US you know what to expect from the legal system, medical care etc. You really do not want to end up in a Mexican hospital or jail. But this Warren county story is crazy! Never let an "acquaintance” in your home!
  8. Yeah, it gets a little worse every year, but not as bad as Tulum. I think Tulum has been completely ruined. Situational awareness is important, and most problems occur when people go looking for drugs or other stuff. We used to go almost anywhere in the city, local neighborhoods, day or night. Now we mostly stay in hotel zone or go with our local friends. This last trip we went into town to go to Market 23. Used to be really great and friendly to tourists, now not so friendly (but still much cheaper tchotchke). And there are occasional random shootings-typically the cartels taking care of independent entrepreneurs who encroach on their sales, but sometimes there is collateral damage. I just feel bad for our friends who live there, grew up there, and they can't just go somewhere else.
  9. Okay that clears it up. Honest answers of course, but no duty to volunteer the info if you don't have PTC. Got it, any traffic stop, but only if you have PTC. Thanks!
  10. So does this mean duty to inform if you are merely transporting IAW statute (i.e. unloaded, in a closed and fastened box, securely tied package, or in the trunk etc.) and you don't have CCW?
  11. I think most of the border traffic is not Mexican, but coming from South and Central America, China, etc. Tbh, I think those resentful people are not native to that area.
  12. Interesting, we were in Cancun recently and I noticed a change in attitude, like people are resentful. A small minority-most people were friendly and service oriented as usual-but enough to notice a difference. We've been going there almost every year since the 90s. I thought we'd eventually stop going due to increasing cartel action (like Acapulco), but Cancun is not that bad yet. Maybe this will keep us from going back soon.
  13. We need NICS check to buy ammo in NJ now? Does it apply to online sales?
  14. Or this guy, just trying to sell meat and milk products: https://lancasteronline.com/news/local/lancaster-county-farmer-amos-miller-feds-reach-agreement-concerning-food-safety-fines/article_f66f67d6-7fe2-11ed-8964-1b10c09e960b.html
  15. Or already is a thing of the past for this guy: https://lancasteronline.com/news/local/lawyers-for-amish-farmer-charged-with-selling-guns-without-a-license-claim-law-vague-1st/article_9a57df2e-bde9-11ed-8d22-8f0ba0f857de.html
