  1. 2017 New Jersey Revised Statutes TITLE 2C - THE NEW JERSEY CODE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE Section 2C:39-3 - Prohibited weapons and devices. https://law.justia.com/codes/new-jersey/2017/title-2c/section-2c-39-3/ f. 2. Are there any websites or articles that give the rundown on types of body armor, specific reviews, etc? I've done some reading and I think my requirements are probably: Lighter weight soft body armor (Level IIIA) with the capability of inserting steel plates to bring it to Level IV Front and rear coverage. Optional side coverage (Level IIIA with ability to go to Level IV). Molle webbing front and rear. It is a one time purchase so cost is not so much of a factor. It would not be worn on a regular basis but mostly kept in the trunk.
  3. Just a bit of warning: If your plane makes an unexpected stop (because of weather, etc.) in an unfriendly state, do NOT take possession of your bag that contains the firearm under any circumstances. That might mean camping out at the carousel and watching it go round and round. I know I am paranoid but there are stories of people getting in hot water for this. The inner case that contains your firearm should be locked (and not with a TSA lock). Also check with your airline as each can have their own rules.
  4. I placed my order (and so did a friend of mine). I am guessing the number of orders will far exceed the number of pistols so the odds are against us but we will see.

The latest forecast seems that we are going to be spared. http://www.tristatestormwatch.com/forecast SEPTEMBER 10TH Hurricane Florence will impact North Carolina and the northern half of South Carolina as a major hurricane later this week. The storm will then move very slowly inland over North Carolina bringing record rainfall to a large portion of that state as well as northern South Carolina and southern Virginia. With the exception of continued rough surf conditions and some minor coastal flooding, the impact of Florence on New Jersey will be minimal. The hurricane will be blocked from moving northward into our area and will slowly dissipate over land well to our south. There are two additional hurricanes in the Atlantic basin, Helene and Issac. Issac will threaten the several islands in the eastern Caribbean but will not pose a threat to either the U.S. or Puerto Rico. Helene will recurve out to sea well east of the U.S. A new tropical storm will threat Texas later in the week.

SEPTEMBER 6TH Hurricane Florence currently located in the far central tropical Atlantic is continuing to move west-northwestward and will continue on this general track for the next five days. It appears as though persistent ridging in the northwest Atlantic (part of the reason for our unseasonable heat) will rebuild next week. This ridging will continue to direct Florence towards the East Coast and the opportunity for a weakness in this ridge being able to create a path for Florence to curve out the sea is becoming less likely by the day. Computer modeling is converging on the idea that Florence will continue on a west-northwest track all the way to or near the US Mid-Atlantic coast in about 7 days. Details still be be determined. Right now, Florence looks to be a threat anywhere from North Carolina to southern New England.
  7. I remember one time I was trying to pin my target up inside. The guy to my left was shooting a shotgun I think and the shock wave kept ripping my target. Not much fun.
  8. If you have the opportunity go to an outdoor range. It can be a much more pleasant experience for a new shooter (as long as it is a nice sunny day).
  9. Fifth Circuit Rejects Constitutional Challenges to "Campus Carry http://reason.com/volokh/2018/08/17/fifth-circuit-rejects-constitutional-cha?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter "Three professors from the University of Texas at Austin challenged a Texas law permitting the concealed carry of handguns on campus and a corresponding University policy prohibiting professors from banning such weapons in their classrooms. The professors argued that the law and policy violate the First Amendment, Second Amendment, and Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The district court dismissed the claims. We AFFIRM" A small victory but these cases keep on adding up. One day we might get a pro-2A ruling in the 3rd circuit for NJ (one can only hope).
  10. Unfortunately I think this may be just the tip of the iceberg. Many of our rights are being eviscerated. The bill of rights mean very little to the left. The left would like to completely eliminate that dusty old constitution and replace it with their socialist Soros agendas. Free speech, one of the hallmarks of our constitution, is being eroded by "hate speech" laws. If the government doesn't like what you are saying then it can become hate speech. Freedom of the press is also being eroded by "fake news". The RKBA is being eroded to "keep us all safe". Our rights of privacy and due process are going out the window with these new laws. I have "stayed in the closet" about my second amendment thoughts with most people. You can't be open to doctors or anyone anymore. These are sad times ahead. I am optimistic that things can get better. It just takes so long for the pendulum to swing back to normalcy. NJ is done until SCOTUS saves us. These sound like the rants of a paranoid crazy. I guess I am just deplorable.
  11. Guns have absolutely nothing to do with need! (Just kidding of course)
  12. Do you think your printer could make one for me in multi-cam?
  13. I have a Benchmade Triage for the same reasons (I even like the name). Unfortunately it is a lock back so I can't take it into NYC. For that I got a slightly smaller cheap slip joint knife that I always carry deep in my pocket without the exposed clip.
