  1. Got my permits! This is in Township of Union. I dropped by the PD on 3/10 to confirm that they are on the new online system. Luckily an officer near the front desk was familiar with the updates and gave me the green light. Applied online 3/17/19. Both references completed by 3/18. Got email that Criminal History was completed 3/21. Got a call from the Union PD that I needed to drop off a check to pay for my permits on 3/22. Although paying ahead of permit pickup seems to be contrary than what is stated online, this wasn't a big deal for me. There was some confusion at front desk but they took it. Another call from PD that permits were ready on 3/26. Got final email approval, belated, on 3/27. I was away on business so picked up my permits today (3/31). From first application to PD call that permits were ready only took nine days! I last did permits in 2015 and that took 1 month total. I'd say the new system is a vast improvement.
  2. Can't go wrong with Bushmill's Black Bush. It is a blended whiskey, smooth and not oakey. Very reasonably priced.
  3. 1. Application type- permits 2. Police Department where you applied- Township of Union (Union County) 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD- Detective Marra (appointment Mrs. Crespo) 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit.- Called Feb 24, Went to PD on Feb 26, Approval letter in the mail (dated 3/26), picked up 3/30 -- 1 month total 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). Std paperwork with online record check 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.). Needed to book an appointment to make a fingerprint comparison card and meet Detective. Was told 1-2 months. My references didn't get the paperwork until March 7. The last reference was sent 3/17. Pretty happy it went smoothly and quickly.
  4. Just picked up a New 4 inch 686 at a reasonable price. Steve was a pleasure to deal with mostly because he is a really good guy. Cheers! Dennis
  5. To the OP -- If the damage is serious enough, you need to contact your own insurer. Explain what happened. Two coverages in your own policy may come into play - uninsured motorist property damage and underinsured motorist property damage. If the other driver has inadequate insurance the second coverage should cover you up to the limits in your policy. Good luck.
  6. Dick's in Union has Remington 22lr 525 golden bullet - limit one per person - $24.99.
