  2. Can you do this one in Texas so I can go? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. January will be four years. We're doing well, both kids working full time, wife is working for the top pediatric ophthalmologist in Texas and I can own any gun with any size magazine I want...not to mention, I can CC at church. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I've been in Texas almost four years now... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. You can see the memories in his face and the way he handles and touches the rifle. There are definitely some things hidden in that rifle that he's kept buried in the deep recesses of his mind for 70+ years Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Here it is on Monday night...above the clouds at 28,000 feet between Newark & Norfolk. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  8. Just give them a forwarding address of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Nope...not Federal. I know in Texas, 18-20 year olds can own/possess handguns...they just can't buy through an FFL. My daughter legally kept a loaded 9mm in her Jeep console before turning 21, now she's waiting for her LTC class so she can carry on her person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Wife & I went had a "date day" at the local gun show today. She picked up a new taser and pepper spray and I picked up this little pocket pal... Taurus 85 Ultra Lite in .38 special. Also picked up a box of Hornady hollow points to carry in it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. This is becoming a very common problem with UPS. On Amazon Prime Day, my wife ordered several items that shipped from different locations. 7 of them came via UPS and one via DHL...the DHL package made it with no problem. The UPS packages showed delivered but were nowhere to be found (sound familiar?). I called Amazon and they pushed it off to UPS. UPS gave me the usual "tracking shows it was delivered, we'll look into it" line of BS. Two days later still no word from UPS so I drove to the local hub and spoke with the manager. He told m that UPS policy (unwritten, of course) is that drivers aren't allowed to return with undelivered packages so they drop them off somewhere in the general vicinity if they can't find the address. UPS corporate denies this policy of course...my next move was to call the sheriff's office to file charges against the driver for larceny since I was missing 7 packages with a total value over $1100. I couldn't file against the driver because I didn't know his name...but they let me file against the manager of the hub since he is ultimately responsible for his employees. It was pretty amazing, that evening, a sheriff's car pulled up in my driveway with the terminal manager in the back along with all of my packages, which had been delivered two streets over...to a house that's for sale and not occupied.
  12. Since I left for Texas a year and a half ago I haven't missed anything...not even family (it was all in-laws anyway). I HAD to go back in Nov/Dec last year for work at McGuire AFB and as I walked out of Newark airport and instinctively pressed my right elbow against my hip, I was reminded of one of the many reasons I disliked NJ. I'm so used to carrying now that not having a 9 or .45 on my hip just feels.....WRONG. I had the same feeling when I had to work in Illinois...they're the only two states I've worked in that don't honor my TX License to Carry. Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Missouri - no problem...NJ & IL...I'm a felon if I get caught carrying. And heaven forbid I bring my 9mm to NJ...19 felony counts in the magazine and one in the chamber, one felony count for each magazine (I have 4), and another if I decide to carry it. So, I'm looking at 25 felony charges (42 if I have my second magazine loaded) for some pieces of plastic and metal that are perfectly legal in my home state.
  13. For anyone wondering...this is because TX only charges $25 for a Veteran's LTC but the initial license for a non-veteran is $140. That's why my wife waited two months after I filed to submit her paperwork. This signature is AWESOME!!!
  14. When I took my TX CHL course, we were advised to request an ambulance if you are even remotely agitated. "It's not unusual for blood pressure to spike or for a person to go into shock if they've been the victim of a violent attack requiring them to defend themselves". The next question was "where would you rather answer questions from...a hospital bed or an interrogation room?" And have your attorney meet you at the hospital. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. My daughter can see, and talk to, spirits. Our old house had several "previous inhabitants" still residing there. When we visited Ellis Island, she was able to point out where hospital beds had been during the First World War when it was used as a military hospital. And, when we're driving through VA on the way to TX, she said that she could see Civil War battles in the fields on each side of the interstate as we drove through heavily battled areas. She couldn't go within 5 blocks of Ground Zero in 2014 because she could see, hear and smell the events of 9/11/01...including the victims trying to find their way out. This signature is AWESOME!!!
