  1. Well, I am 25 and I do have my FID. I only asked because I will be building it at my dads and I wanted to know what I would need to do to it to make it jersey legal in case I wanted to bring it back here and shoot it at the range. And yea, I probably should have added this to the first post. Now that I think about it, if I`m building it there, and I want to bring it here, I should just look at the laws for the this state..
  2. And I admit, I`m very stupid when it comes to this. So please, don`t judge lol.
  3. In the next week or two, I am going to have my dad order a lower for me. Only reason is because he can get the one I want for cheaper. My question is, or really making sure I follow the "rules", even though the lower will be under my dads name, do I still need to follow the rules to keep it Jersey legal?
  4. When he asked why not buy online, I thought he was saying by the gun online...my mistake. And I just read that they both have to match by searching...I should have looked before I posted a response. Sorry.
  5. I have no idea why I`d say that? It would not be worth the money to purchase online. I went today to Howell and she told me that pretty much as long as my permit matches my FID, I will be fine.
  6. Well, if Steve says I`ll be ok, than I won`t worry. Although, I`ll still ask when I go, just to make sure.
  7. I only gave my license because he asked for it. Yes, I should have asked, next time I go, I'll make sure to ask why they would need to see it with my FID, And I wasn't going to say no and get into an argument about it, I didn't see a point. As far as if my zip on my FID, it matches my license. Both have 07735 on them. And normally, I don't give my money to Dicks for ammo, Howell Gun Works was closed and I had no real choice at the time.
  8. Yea, I wad thinking about going to Howell next Friday when I get paid and ask him if he'd would have issue. And I did try to explain that Keyport is a town in Aberdeen, but the guy was an ass and he didn't really care what I had to say.
  9. The other day, I went to Dicks to buy ammo. The guy behind the counter was hesitant to sell me it because the city on my FID and ID don't match. My FID says Aberdeen and my license says Keyport. He said that normally he can't sell it to me because they don't match. Everything else though, street address, zip code, everything matches but the city. I have went to Dicks before and I have never run into that issue. Will I have that issue when I go buy my gun?
  10. I`ll be heading to the one in Philly. with my buddy on Sunday.
  11. Glad everything finally worked out for you....even though you had to jump through hoops and wait 7 months.
  12. I have been the same say as well. Even though I have all the parts I need and want, I am still looking at other possibilities. From I`ve been reading and seeing around there, (Illinois), there is not one. I even had someone at Gander Mountain tell me that they can order me a drum if I so desired. I even asked him if that`s illegal, having been from Jersey and all, and he said nope. I was floored to say the least.
  13. Over the last few weeks, I have decided that I would like to assemble my first AR 15 instead of purchasing one off the shelf. I have done a plethora of research, (Although, I am sure that there is a lot more that I can obtain), and have come to the conclusion that to get what I want in a rifle, assembling one would be the smarter choice. It would also give me the knowledge of how to put one together, learn as to what each part does, and just know that rifle inside and out. Mind you, I will be building the rifle at my dad`s who live in IL, so I won`t have to deal with NJ`s restrictive laws. I do visit him on a monthly basis, so it will be used, shot, and cared for. Please comment, as I am always interested as to what other have to say or any criticisms that you may have. So, here is the parts list that I have come up with that will fit my needs. Again, feel free to offer suggestions. Barreled upper receiver with free float rail - PSA 16" M4 Premium ss12G2 Chambered in 5.56 PSA AR15/M16 Charging handle Spikes Tactical Complete 5.56/.223 BCG PSA Gadsden Stripped Lower Receiver PSA AR Lower parts kit w/ MAGPUL grip and trigger guard Spikes Tactical 6-postion Mil. Spec buffer tube kit Magpul CTR Carbine Mil. Spec Stock Daniel Defense flip up front and rear sights Vortex Strikefire II Red dot sight I`ll probably get about 3 or 4 mag`s and an angled fore grip.
  14. Voted. And I`m being entertained by some of the comments that are being posted.
