  1. This is what I'm looking at currently... http://www.midwayusa.com/product/702608/ed-brown-semi-drop-in-barrel-with-bushing-1911-commander-45-acp-1-in-16-twist-stainless-steel
  2. @Bt Doctur-my only concern with a Lake barrel is that it's a ROTO 4M barrel, and I'm not all that keen on making that my 1st choice, based on my above link to the 1911 forum posting....
  3. I'd def like to keep it as true to the original as possible, but dont mind if the barrel is finished with bluing / steel.
  4. Thanks for the correction there T Bill! Actually it's more that I don't want to change the lines of my series 70. Any opinions on this? It's multiple posts like this one, that make me want to stay with a genuine colt barrel, or a great 3rd party one. https://www.1911forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=321584
  5. Sadly I cant do threaded, bec i live in NJ. A true drop-in barrel is definitely what I'm looking for though!
  6. I bought this pistol used, and the rifling in the original barrel is def worn down some. Wanted to grab a replacement that does the job just as good as the original. Wilson combat barrels caught my eye previously, Im guessing for the price they're as good as people say?
  7. Thanks!! Any suggestions WHICH 3rd party barrel I should go with? I'm just a 'casual' pistol shooter, nothing competitive.
  8. ...it's a series 70, with 5" barrel - any suggestions? Want to go with a genuine Colt barrel if possible, if not then hopefully an outstanding 3rd party barrel. Can't seem to find them anywhere...
  9. Sold me a beautiful C39! Customer service was outstanding - will be paying him another visit, the next time I'm in the market for a new rifle! Thanks Jack!!
  10. Thanks DeerSlayer! Ive been in touch with Jack, and I think we're gonna do some business.
  11. Thank you! Very much what I was looking for all around! (Including jermz 'non-AK' pic!)
  12. Right, that makes sense....so technically an ak74 would be allowable, or since its designated an AK, that's no good either? Aside from the Saiga, are there other variants that I could look for sale to NJ? If possible, I would really like to find something that's already good to go, and ready to be shipped...
  13. So i have to ask the same question thats probably been asked numerous times: If the law states: AK platform are banned by name (13:54-1.2 Definitions - "Avtomat Kalashnikov type semi-automatic firearms") in New Jersey. How are people showing up to the range with rifles of that type? I've read that all AK's need to have the same mods done to them as the AR's, including nothing being marked "AK" on the rifle itself - but even my FFL came back to me with the NJ/AK's are banned, etc. nonsense. What am i missing? Can i get a firearms store to modify and ship one out to me if i dont use the term "AK" when looking to purchase?
