Accuracy to the Thousandths......

How important?

I pressed out 25 9mm rounds last night, looking for LOA of 1.090 and am getting ranges from 1.09X to 1.142.

I've seen a recipe for a 9mm round with an LOA of 1.142 so I think I'm good.

I still have to check them in our barrels (removed from firearms) and then Chrono them (thanks Harry).

My question, or concern, is really how far can I miss the mark of say 1.142 and still be OK.

I don't plan on missing, and once I get the press dialed in a little further, it shouldn't be an issue.

Just a noob reloader looking for reassurance...

Beretta 3901 New to me

I just bought a beretta 3901 off gun broker. Does anyone have one of these or familiar with them? I got it to use for sporting clays. Anyone know which choke system it uses, i found it says mobilchoke's. But it seems there are several different mobilechokes. Any advice or info on this shotgun would be nice too.

Self Defense in the Home

Is it true that if you have been unfortunate enough to experience a self-defense situation in your home, that not only will the police confiscate the weapon that you have used for self defense, but that they will more often than not take ALL of the firearms in the home, whether yours or not, even if they are not involved. Is that normally the case? Are there qualifiers? Would law enforcement generally take this route, or would there have to be other indicators that it certainly wasn't a "good shoot".

Has the law on slingshots changed? I was in bob kislins sporting goods in toms river and saw them for sale, as well as in tips, hard to believe these stores would push the law without knowing for sure something changed. I would love to get one but I want tomake sure its legal.

Garand Guy

Just writing to see if anyone has any recent experience with the Garand Guy.

Reason being I bought a Garand from him in January, and it keeps jamming. I took it to the range four times, tried cleaning and regreasing it, tried a new op rod spring to replace the old worn one, and it still jams at least once for every clip of 8.

Since his Garands include a guarantee, I figure he will be able to make it work right. Should be easy for him, probably a part needs to be replaced.

I emailed the Garand Guy three times, and left a message on his phone number. Email and phone number are what I got from his website. He never replied to me.

Before I get mad, I just want to make sure that god forbid he doesn't have a medical issue or something.

I hate to think that he sold out his inventory with the current high demand and is just giving up on the business. Because I have a $1000 jam-o-matic right now.

Anyone have any info?

Bought the wife a Sig Sauer P226 Classic 22lr yesterday and ordered the 9mm X-change kit for it as well. With that combination, she will eventually have two different pistols in effect for the price of the Sig 9mm. We read lot's of review of both guns and the kit, and I think it will end up being a deal that is hard to beat.
I took her to the range for here first time only a month ago and she's infected for good. She didn't like the 9 at first so I let her shoot just the 22 for 3 weeks without comment and once she got comfortable with it she was amenable to giving it another go on the 9mm. Just a shot or two the first time, but by the second time out she was enjoying it as much as the 22. By the way she's pretty good on the 22 and progressing on the 9.
Hopefully this will turn out to be the best of both worlds. Opinions?
