I did not notice it listed but does anyone have any info on transporting firearms into NY? If I was to attend a handgun and carbine class on Long Island what precautions should I take?

Is it an NRA sanctioned event and do you have the program and entry materials? If not, you have no legal protections to have handguns anywhere in NY. Carbine is fine with max 10rnd mags and evil feature game.

 

Perhaps the instructor can provide a handgun for you.

No it is not a NRA sanctioned event. One of the ranges on Long Island is hosting a quality instructor. The classes are months away so once time gets closer I may have to see if someone attending has a handgun I can use for the class. If not I may have to skip it as I would not feel comfortable attending and then staying overnight at a hotel with my firearms in NY.
