Jon 264 Posted June 24, 2012 Whenever I'm at Home Depot I stop by Efinger just to see if there's anything worth looking at in the used case. I'm not a wheelgunner but I figured some of you who are might be interested... They have a 6" Taurus 66 in .357 in very good condition for $359, and the gun appeared to be mint. Underdog 1,593 Posted June 24, 2012 A Taurus 66 is a really nice revolver for the money and quite a value. An older one with Hogue rubber grips and without the safety lock is even better. As jOn pointed out, that is a good deal to be had for someone looking for a revolver. I'd personally be more interested if it had a 4" barrel.
njluger 5 Posted June 26, 2012 Jon, how are the prices at Efingers of late? I stopped going there due to the crazy prices they had on their firearms. Recently, I heard from someone that their prices were adjusted and they are a lot more competitive.
Jon 264 Posted June 26, 2012 I have not looked into anything more than handgun prices. Their new handguns and most of the used ones are still wayyyyy high IMO, with the exception of that Taurus.
Heavyopp 167 Posted June 27, 2012 From what I understand there's a new manager in the gun section -- He's rather young. The prices are a lot more realistic than they used to be but still on the higher end.
rightisright 3 Posted June 28, 2012 Their prices on new stuff have come down a bit. And you can usually haggle a (tiny) bit on the used guns. It's been my experience over the last 10 years of buying guns that most NJ shops think they are the only one selling guns. Three weeks ago I went to Heritage in Branchburg and bought two guns. My buddy also bought one. The total sale was ~$1800. I asked for a price on 2 other guns. I assumed they wouldn't think I was a tire-kicker after the sales they just made. I was told I would receive a phone call in a few days. Still waiting for that call.... BTW, one of the guns I wanted was the new Savage Hog Hunter in .308. I ended up buying it online through Buds and having it shipped to Ralph at Millstone Sport Shop for less than the initial-we'll-get-back-to-you-quote from Heritage.
