RecessedFilter 222 Posted January 4, 2013 So Dino and I were talking and realized since ammo prices are increasing (even shotgun ammo at some places), I thought it may be a good time to go in on a pallet. If I recall, a pallet is 30 cases. We did this on another forum and it worked out well, except it was pistol ammo and everyone was happy. Hopefully we could get a case price down to $45-50 since we would be buying so much but I'm not promising anything. If I have enough interest, I will start researching what retailers could supply a pallets worth and then lead up to a group buy depending on price and availability. For now, who would be interested in this? I think a 2 case minimum order per person would be fair. I'd probably buy 4 or 5 myself. Order must be paid for ahead of time. It would be 12ga, either #7.5 or #8. I entertain questions or comments.
chris327 30 Posted January 4, 2013 Not to jack the thread but any interest in doing this with rifle or pistol ammo?
JustJoe 0 Posted January 4, 2013 Not to jack the thread but any interest in doing this with rifle or pistol ammo? Not to highjack either (which I'm about to do) I would be in for .22LR depeding on the brand or 9mm or both.
RecessedFilter 222 Posted January 4, 2013 Not to jack the thread but any interest in doing this with rifle or pistol ammo? If someone wants to do that, be my guest! I think that may be more difficult with the demand on rifle/pistol ammo right now versus birdshot. A lot of us have been shooting clays every month so I thought it wouldn't be too hard finding people to go in on 30 cases.
M4BGRINGO 139 Posted January 4, 2013 If you need help lemme know. I still have about eight cases, but it doesn't go bad.......... My FFL buys a pallet at a time for him and his buddies. I got four cases last time. I use it for Knockdown Steel at OBRPC with my Saiga-12. It's not just for clays anymore!

If this gets enough bites, I may ask for the FFL info to talk to the owner.
johnp 45 Posted January 4, 2013 What does(did) a case of shotgun ammo normally cost? Before the gun scare.
DirtyDigz 1,812 Posted January 4, 2013 Interested. Best I've been able to do on a per case basis is ~$55 when Cabelas had specials.
Scrap 4 Posted January 4, 2013 I would be interested in this. If you have connections to do this would 00 Buck (Or possibly plain, rifled slugs but I am most interested in 00 Buck) be possible as well?
bry@n 195 Posted January 4, 2013 If you get the cases to the 45-50 price range, I'd be in for 10 cases. I would prefer 8 shot also. I can start a group buy for pistol ammo tomorrow.
RSK70 0 Posted January 4, 2013 In for at least 2 cases!
pbkid6974 1 Posted January 4, 2013 I'm in too.
RecessedFilter 222 Posted January 4, 2013 Before the ammo price increase a few weeks ago, cases are usually $60 at Cabela's. At local shops, a case runs about $70-75. Finding a large group for buckshot would probably be difficult as it's more expensive ($125 up for a case of 250) and their are 30 cases on a pallet I believe. RobertJames 14 Posted January 4, 2013 I'll take at least two, possibly more.

twong11219 0 Posted January 4, 2013 Put me down for 3 cases. 4 if you need to fill the quota.
cigarsnscotch 0 Posted January 4, 2013 I'm interested but what's the difference between the two? I'm new to shotguns and don't know much about the different shells. I'd purchase the min. I think, maybe 3 or 4 if the price is right.
DbleTrouble 8 Posted January 4, 2013 I'm in for 2 cases.

Krdshrk 3,877 Posted January 4, 2013 Is this light target ammo? If so, I can't run that reliably through my 11-87. Need higher velocity/higher dram ammo for it to cycle properly.
BlueLineFish 615 Posted January 4, 2013 Depending on what it is i would be in. Also depending how far away from me i could pick up the pallet in my truck
