  • Maine’s Concealed Carry Rights in Jeopardy Again!
    On Tuesday, September 14, the City of Portland’s Public Safety Committee will hold a public hearing to consider legislation prohibiting firearms in certain public facilities. After the hearing, the Committee will deliberate in public and decide whether to recommend that City Council take up a Resolution supporting such a measure.
  • Washington: Officials threaten to shut down the Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club range
    The Kitsap County Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit seeking to shut down a gun range on Seabeck Highway. The nonprofit Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club is the subject of the county complaint.
  • Coast Guard Academy takes aim at competitive shooting course
    On this brisk Saturday morning, teams of law enforcement officers, professionals and amateur shooters alike gathered to compete in the Walls of Steel shooting competition -- a firearms course where shooters took aim at a series of steel plates of various shapes and sizes. Among the teams to assemble this year was the Combat Arms Team from the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. Chief Warrant Officer Chad Barber is one of the firearms instructors at the academy and coaches the Combat Arms Team. He said, this type of competition provides future officers opportunities to further their skills.

  • Philippines: More gun control pressed
    Senator Antonio Trillanes IV filed a bill that aims to have a tighter gun control and stiffer penalties for unlawful possession and acquisition of firearms particularly by public officials whether in civilian or in military, police or law enforcement service.
